About these terms
SnakeBack is provided by John Cotter ("we," "us"). By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. If you are not old enough to enter an agreement where you live, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these terms on your behalf.
Permission to play
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and play an authorized copy of SnakeBack on a device you own or control, subject to applicable store rules. You may share your own gameplay screenshots, recordings, and challenge codes.
Do not unlawfully redistribute or sell the app, misrepresent it as your work, remove ownership notices, or use it to violate someone else's rights. These terms do not restrict activities permitted by law or rights granted by the licenses of included open-source components.
Development builds and availability
Availability depends on your device, country, and store. A disabled store button marked Coming soon is not a download link or a promise of a release date. Only use authorized development builds or an official store listing when one is available.
Development builds may contain bugs or change between versions. We may update, replace, or discontinue features or builds. We do not promise that every build will work on every device or receive ongoing support. We will respect any support or update obligations imposed by applicable law.
Your progress and device
Progress, settings, cosmetics, and scores are saved locally. There is no developer-operated cloud backup or account recovery. Resetting progress, clearing app storage, removing the app, or losing your device can cause permanent loss of saved data. Device backup and restore behavior depends on your platform and settings.
Earned tokens and cosmetics are game features with no cash value and cannot be redeemed for money. Resetting gameplay removes earned progress but preserves separately stored Supporter Pack ownership and your selected collection.
Optional Supporter Pack
Where available, one non-consumable purchase unlocks Moon Garden, Solar Arcade, and Porcelain across Journey, Classic, and all adventure slots. The pack includes cosmetic snakes, boards, fruit, effects, and music. Matching launcher icons are supported on Android; icon behavior can differ on other platforms. The pack does not sell lives, scores, progression, or a gameplay advantage. There are no subscriptions or ads.
Your store displays the applicable local price and purchase confirmation before charging you. Purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple's App Store under that store's terms. A pending or cancelled payment does not unlock the pack. The free game remains available without purchasing.
Use Restore in the Supporter Pack screen with the same store account to recover an eligible purchase after reinstalling or moving to a supported device. Restore and ownership checks may need an internet connection. Purchases are tied to the store where they were made; an Android purchase does not unlock the iOS edition, or vice versa. Family-sharing availability depends on the store and product configuration and is not promised.
Requests for refunds are handled under the relevant store's refund process and applicable consumer law. A refund or revocation can remove access to the pack when the app next confirms ownership. Uninstalling the app or resetting progress does not request a refund. Contact support@johncotter.io if you need help accessing a completed purchase.
Privacy and support
Our Privacy policy explains local saves, optional diagnostics, and information you choose to send to us. You decide whether to share diagnostics or screenshots for support. Do not send material you do not have permission to share.

Ownership and third-party services
We and our licensors retain the rights to SnakeBack and its artwork, music, code, and other content. Included third-party components remain subject to their own licenses; engine and font license information is available in the app's Settings.
For copies obtained through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement governs the app license unless a separate custom license is expressly supplied there. These terms supplement, and do not replace, that license. If there is a conflict concerning the App Store license, the applicable Apple license controls.
Copies obtained through Google Play are also subject to the applicable Google Play terms. Apple and Google operate their own services and are not the publisher of SnakeBack. Their names and marks belong to their respective owners.
Warranties and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, SnakeBack is provided "as is" and "as available," without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. To that same extent, we exclude implied warranties and liability for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use of the app.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a warranty, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory consumer rights, including any rights that apply where you live, remain in place.
Ending use and changes to these terms
You may stop using SnakeBack at any time. If you materially breach these terms, we may end the permission granted under them, subject to applicable law. Ending that permission does not give us remote access to your device or local saves.
We may revise these terms as the app develops. We will publish revisions here with an updated date and provide additional notice or request agreement when required by law. Changes do not remove rights that have already arisen. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
